PostgreSQL Specialist – B2B Offer

We are looking for a PostgreSQL expert to support us in designing, optimizing and maintaining efficient and accessible database systems in Kubernetes environment.

Key technologies:

  • PostgreSQL
  • Oracle/MySQL database migrations
  • SQL Server
  • Linux (RedHat, Debian/Ubuntu) and Bash support

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing PostgreSQL clusters for high availability and scalability.
  • Migrating databases from other SQL systems (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) to the PostgreSQL platform.
  • Planning and execution of production data migration while minimizing downtime.
  • Implementation of data masking and anonymization processes, in compliance with legal regulations (e.g. RODO, HIPAA).
  • Monitoring PostgreSQL database performance, analyzing logs and diagnosing problems.
  • Optimizing SQL queries and database structures to increase efficiency.
  • Developing security policies and implementing database backup solutions.
  • Developing tools to automate the management of PostgreSQL clusters in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate databases with applications.
  • Prepare technical documentation and participate in the architecture review process.

Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with PostgreSQL in a production environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL mechanisms such as replication, sharding, performance optimization and indexing.
  • Experience in designing PostgreSQL clusters with high availability (HA/Failover).
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes (at least basic knowledge of database application management).
  • Ability to monitor databases using tools such as pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Proficiency in SQL query optimization.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems (RedHat, Debian/Ubuntu) and Bash support.
  • Practice in creating and recovering database backups.
  • Experience in migrating databases to PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to implement data masking and anonymization processes in a production environment.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm.
  • Experience with database management tools such as Patroni or Stolon.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD in the context of databases.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Go).
  • Experience working with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • PostgreSQL or Kubernetes related certifications.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Tableau, Power BI) and their integration with PostgreSQL.
